Currently, there is a lot of debate in the US over which countries should recieve aid and which should not. As the Senate and House were about to adjourn for the Christmas break, a conference committee was formed to resolve individual appropriations. The powerful House Appropriations Committee, especially its subcommittee on the funding of foreign government operations, is playing a big role in these decisions. Two of the most prominent and active members involved in this are Congressman Mark Kirk (R-IL) and Congresswoman Nita Lowey (D-NY), both of whom are strong supporters of Shoaib Choudhury and have met with him personally. With the break over, work on these matters begins again. We have an opportunity to affect the outcome. Our representatives in Washington do not know what our issues are unless we tell them. They have no way of knowing the issues of moral import to us unless we tell them. And sometimes, they do not have all the information about these things unless we tell them. Once we do, they tend to be responsive--especially in an election year, which is what 2008 is!

I am appalled that millions of hard earned American tax dollars go to the corrupt and Islamist-appeasing regime of Bangladesh. This regime is committing ethnic cleansing on millions of Hindus and other religious minorities; and it oppresses our brother Shoaib, threatening him with capital charges it knows to be total fabrications. We must cut off all US appropriations to Bangladesh. Its leaders show nothing but contempt for the United States, its Congress, and its people—while gladly taking our aid and millions more from our purchases of their products. Everyone please write your Senators and Congressional Representatives. Tell them to insist that Bangladeshi appropriations be tied to human rights, including Bangladeshi compliance with House Resolution 64, and numerous other calls to drop the charges against Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury.

You have the information on this web site or at your finger tips. I am also happy to supply more if you contact me. Congressman Kirk has given me his personal committment to fight for Shoaib--as he has for the last three years. Please help him get the support he needs from colleagues in the Senate and House who want to show that they, too, are committed to fighting for human rights and against those who would make common cause with our enemies.
