Welcome to Interfaith Strength, a web site devoted to strengthening the bonds of understanding among people of different faiths. This international effort has grown out of the collegial and now fraternal relationship between Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury of Bangladesh and Richard L. Benkin from the United States. Two men, one Muslim one Jewish, once strangers, now brothers!

For more information about the struggle to free Salah Uddin Shoaid Choudhury, click the "Archives" button above to go to the old "Free Choudhury" web site.

We hope this web site will be a cyber gathering place for individuals worldwide who believe that a key to peace is understanding and respect—that is far more than tolerance—among people of different faiths. We hope this site will attract people and organizations that disagree with those who say religion is the root of most conflict. In fact, religion, faith will lead us along the path toward peace. It is not religion that causes conflict, but the politicization of religion for transient ends. Shoaib Choudhury and Richard Benkin also hope that Interfaith Strength becomes a place where people struggling for the same principles of interfaith understanding and religious equality can make contact with each other and support one another as they pursue their common goals worldwide. Together with you, Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury and Richard Benkin hope more and more people come to believe that too, and are willing to help others see it as well. Richard Benkin and Salah Uddin Choudhury are available to provide written work or for interviews; and Richard Benkin is available for speeches. You can reach them by clicking here.

Thanks to Sarah Benkin for her extensive work in creating and maintaining this web site.

Muslim journalist Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury spent 17 months in a Bangladesh prison for advocating interfaith understanding and warning about terrorism.

Jewish activist Dr. Richard L Benkin fought tirelessly to free him, securing his release in 2005. His struggle for Shoaib and interfaith understanding continues.
