ISRAELI GESTURE TO BANGLADESH
Israeli government has offered to extend their hands of cooperation to the cyclone-affected people of Bangladesh. An Israeli proposal for extending help to the people of Bangladesh
is now under active consideration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
[MOFA]. There are two different opinions on receiving Israeli
assistance. One section Of MOFA feels that by receiving Israeli
assistance, Bangladesh may annoy Muslim nations like Iran, Saudi Arabia, Syria and Lebanon while another group feels that many of the Arab nations have already established relations with Israel, so there should not be any problem for Bangladesh in receiving Israeli humanitarian assistance. The matter may be finalized this week. It may be mentioned here that, Bangladesh continues travel ban on Israel while a large number of Muslim nations including
Pakistan, Indonesia and Saudi Arabia have established economic relations with Jerusalem.
Most of the Muslim nations, having economic or diplomatic relations
with Israel continues to avail multiple assistance from Jerusalem in
the fields of technology, medical science, agriculture etc. Israel's
technoligical support to Indian state of West Bengal helped in
increasing agrocultural production to three folds. It is believed that,
possible relations between Dhaka and Jerusalem will greatly benefit the
people of Bangladesh. It will also open the door for Bangladeshis in
visiting AL AQSA Mosque in Jerusalem.
